Happy Valley TV - "Bringing Utah To Life"
Educational, Enlightening and Hilarious!

  • A Brief Overview of "Happy Valley TV"
HVTV is a thirty minute weekly variety television show loosely patterned after the classic talk shows of David Letterman and the like, but with a local (Utah) twist. HVTV features top Utah musical artists, stars, comedians and more, and is taped before a live studio audience. Each show will also offer short comedic featurettes called "Where Will Michael B." These comedic yet informative documentary styled featurettes will take viewers along with Michael B as he travels the state of Utah looking for fun and exciting things to do and see. Whether learning to hang glide or being put through intense tactical military training at a paint ball facility where he gets shot up by the pros. Michael B. delivers clean impromptu comedy as he interacts with the people and places of Utah!

All live shows run approximately 90 minutes and are edited down to two 30 minute broadcast versions.

  • What is the structure of the show?

Each show consists of six distinct parts:

    1.
10 minutes of comedic commentary by host Michael B. Michael's PG brand of humor will address local, personal and current issues.

    2. 10 minutes of live audience interactions, skits and games. From stupid human tricks to live trivia and pranks, the audience becomes a vital and engaging part of the show.

    3.
Two 10 minute interviews of Utah celebrities or people of note. Interviews will be entertaining yet informative and educational. Interviews will emphasize questions about how the individual got into their particular industry and what their secrets of success are etc.

    4.
10 minute comedic destination featurette "Where Will Michael B?" These comedic yet informative documentary styled featurettes take viewers along with Michael B as he travels the state of Utah looking for fun and exciting things to do and see.

Pre-taped featurettes are shown on studio monitors during the live show as well as the Television show.

"HVTV is edutainment at it's absolute best!"
Mike Hayter - Executive Producer "HVTV"

    5. 10 minutes of featured standup comedians.

    6. 10 minutes of live music featuring top Utah musical artists.

  • Why is the show called "Happy Valley TV"?

For decades, many communities in and around Utah have referred to their region as "Happy Valley", most notably Utah County and Logan. Many Salt Lake City residents have also referred to Salt Lake City as happy valley. Although often times used sarcastically to describe these regions, we believe the true essence of the label to be one of genuine love for the many peaceful, happy destinations located in our beautiful State.

Our goal at "HVTV" is to bring upbeat, clean, educational and positive entertainment to the viewer as we strive to make "Happy Valley TV" a Happy Place To Be!
Michael Birkeland - Producer | Host "HVTV"

  • Where will the live tapings of the show be and how can I get tickets?
All shows will be taped in theaters and auditoriums of Colleges and Universities throughout Utah.

Stay tuned as we roll out our schedule in the coming days for 2006!

“We try to get guests on the show that have made a difference and an impact on people,” Bob Madsen Executive Producer said. Happy Valley TV features prominent members of the community that we believe have set the bar for success. “We like to talk about who they are, and how they got to where they are today,” he added.
